Junior Section Recruitment
EXPRESSION OF INTEREST TO JOIN ST. PATRICK’S ROWING CLUB
Children aged between 10-18 years.
With the proposed restrictions being lifted on the 26th of April for children we are now opening recruitment for our Junior Section! The committee has been working hard putting in all the right protocols in place for the safe return to rowing.
Our aim at St. Patrick’s Rowing Club is to provide a fun, safe and enjoyable experience of rowing on and off the water. This year we will be introducing some additional water based activities to complement traditional skiff rowing and to add extra fun on the water for our junior members to enjoy.
We are passionate about teaching children and teeagers how to row in a fun and educating way. Rowing should be about enjoyment, meeting new friends and getting to experience our city from the water. We are a competitive rowing club and partake in East Coast Regattas along the coast of Dublin and Wicklow throughout the season (pending lifting of Covid restrictions). There’s nothing like the thrill of racing and achieving something magnificent.
Safety of our members is absolutely paramount and we must do everything possible to stop Covid-19 entering the club. Members will train in Pod’s . Each crew will be allocated a time for their training, after their session we kindly ask that Junior members leave the club area for the next crew to start their training. Our boats will be sanitized after each crew leaves the dock, before a new crew arrives.
Although this new way of training is “different”, we are delighted to have this beacon of light for our Junior Members after a long period of Level 5 restrictions.
